WEBKINZ WORLD... Can you give me some advice for setting up an acct(s) for multiple kids? Mother of 2 plus 6.?

I bought into the webkinz craze during the sales (got a great price btw); opened the critters and planned to log on so that e-1 would be up and running for xmas. The idea in my head, was to set up two for my own kids and 6 additional critters for cousins, plus two adults to ensure some sort of monitoring. Of course, the lady in the store knew nothing--all I had was advertising info. So far it seems they want you to set up 10 accts one for ea kid---and the accts expire in 12 mos unless you pay or buy another pet (and the time on the pets is not cumulative---you buy the next pet 12 mos from now). Does setting us up on one acct limit our access to a lot of the virutal capabilities? Is it even worth having a second, third or 4th acct? The site says the more critters on one acct the better for added benefits but I would like some input from moms or kids actually using the site. Several kids are out of state and I was hoping this would be a fun way to connect...but I may be wrong.

  1. My kids each have an account. Their friends down in Texas also have an account. They connect through their accounts and their animals play with each other. Really there is no reason to monitor as the "chat" on the site is highly regulated and kids cannot give out any personal information even if they wanted to. We bought the kids a webkinz for Christmas and now they get a new one in their stocking every year. That way the keep the ones from the past and every year they get a new one - however, you can only play with one animal at a time on their account. If your kids want to play with each other online they will have to be on seperate computers in order to do that.
  2. HI, Both of my older kids have their own accounts, and I have 1 too! Lots of fun for all, and since my husband has a computer as well, makes it fun for the kids to connect. Highly regulated in the clubhouse and I just keep an eye on what they are playing. Great idea to get a new pet for Christmas every year, our kids also get one for their birthdays, and other special occasions. There are some added benefits to having more pets, but since you can only use one pet at a time, for most kids, it's a waste to have a ton of pets. Also a good idea for each kid to have their own account and password. If there is any funny business, i.e. cheat codes used, the site mangers will yank the entire account and all the pets registered will no longer be able to be used. For example, one of the out of state kids shares the password with a friend from school, it gets around and someone without the best intentions can ruin it for everyone.   3. your account is active for one year (like you said)...if you add a new pet to that account your "year" starts on the date of that adoption with every new adoption (on one account) you are given more kinzcash and a new room if you want kids in different states/houses to play with each other they will need their own account...it's fine if there is only 1 pet in a account you can play games against each other and invite other webkinz into your room...it's cute I have a site to help new webkinz families ;) check out the link below...if you have any specific questions let me know
