How does polar bear know what apples is...?

if apples is in a solid block of ice, and polar bear tries to get said apples, how does polar bear know what apples is?

  1. I thought I answered this in biology. He has vision, too. If you saw an apple in a block of ice, you would be curious about it too. You would have an evolutionary advantage, though, as your common ancestor had fruitivore propensities. He was trichromic, very possible to see the ripeness of fruit by color. A bear would have to dig down and free the apple, smell it and presume it is good to eat.
  2. Te bear is probably, and understandably, mistaking the ice-distorted frozen apples for something charming and tasty, like a dead child's giblets, frozen in the ice.
