Could a Polar Bear take a Baseball Bat to the Face? If a reasonably strong 25-year old man hit a full grown Polar Bear in the face with a baseball bat as hard as he could, would it knock out the Polar Bear? Would it kill the bear? Obviously, this is a 10-beer argument that I had with a couple buddies, and there is no chance that any of us would hit any animal with a bat. We would just like to hear some opinions on this matter. Assume that you are going to fight the Polar Bear, but you get one free shot with a bat, and the Bear won't dodge the swing, he'll just take it right in the temple, or wherever you choose to hit it. Would you be safe after that one swing? Or would it just piss the bear off so that he could eat you with more fury and rage? How can we save the Polar Bear from dying out due to global warming? I saw a show that indicated that the northern ice cap could be gone by 2050. Polar Bears need the ice in order to hunt and survive. Is there any hope to reverse these changes? I realize that fossil fuel burning cars are going to be around for years. Would it help if our government raised the minimum MPG for new cars? Global warming isn't just about saving the Polar Bear. Reversing the trend could prevent severe storms and flooding of coastal cities around the world and save human lives as well. Perhaps the Polar Bear is an image we can all rally around to not only save them, but to save people too.

How can people say the polar bear population is increasing? Every source I find shows the populations have decreased since at least 1977 except in the Davis Strait which has banned seal hunting. Even in areas where polar bear hunting is legal they say the increased birth rates have not kept up with the mortality rates. In addtion, the average weight of the polar bears is decreasing. Why would the WCU put them on the Threatened list and the US is considering putting them on the Endangered list if they were increasing so much??? The estimated population was 25-40,000 in 1993 and today is 20-25,000. Surveys I have seen (not using any sites that complain about global warming) show the population has decreased 22% since 1980.

How would the death of every Whale, Polar Bear, and Dolphin harm me? All 3 of these animals eat the fish that we could be eating, if we eliminated these competitors, it would mean more fish for us. On top of it we could enjoy a nice amount of meat from these animals while we were killing them off, as well as fine fur coats from the polar bears we'd shoot into extinction.
